$10 Sundays: Powder Brush & Maybelline Color Tattoo

Sunday, February 1, 2015

I actually bought these two beauties a month back and forgot about them until I was cleaning my apartment the other week. So I figured I'd feature them as this week's $10 Sunday since they were around $10!

I really love the Maybelline Color Tattoos -- they are such beautiful, affordable, good quality cream shadows. Although it can be a pain applying them smoothly over my oily lids, I really like them because they stay put all day and look more intense than powder shadows. I already own the cult favorite color, Bad to the Bronze, and one of the limited edition shades, Beige-ing Beauty, but I really wanted another neutral, everyday cream eyeshadow. I love Bad to the Bronze as an everyday shadow, but it's very cool-toned and I wanted a gold cream shadow since gold looks absolutely stunning against my tan skin. The swatches of the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bold Gold looked so beautiful that I had to pick it up. I haven't opened the pot yet, but I'm super excited to try it on! I'm hoping it's not super metallic but the great thing about these cream shadows is that they're very easy to blend to your desired intensity.

Next, I also purchased the Real Techniques Powder Brush. I bought this because I really wanted a large fluffy powder brush. I was previously using the poofy ELF Face Brush, but the bristles of the brush kinda went haywire after multiple washings. Therefore, I got this brush for a smoother application of my bareMinerals Mineral Veil. Although I've recently come to terms with my ELF Face Brush and have been using it for my powder without any issues, I'm still going to hang on to this brush as a backup or even as a blush brush. The Real Technique brushes are really great quality at very affordable prices and I'm sure this one's not going to disappoint.
