Happy Tuesday morning everyone. It's a beautiful morning here. I'm happy to announce that I'm now two months done with my residency!! Time has honestly flown by. I completed newborn nursery and a month of general pediatrics floors, which are two of the most intense rotations we do intern year. I'm now on my infectious diseases elective, which is suuuuuuper chill thus far. I'm loving elective life already. I have to be there for morning report at 8:30am, and usually end up leaving around 5pm. I also carry like 1-2 patients, so it's definitely much more chill than being on the floors. On top of it, there's 3 of us on right now, so it splits up the work pretty nicely. They say 2nd and 3rd year you have even more electives, which makes me even more excited to be done with intern year.
So much to update you guys on! I'm honestly loving my new city. I love that I live in the center of it all -- the beaches, suburbia, NYC, the Hamptons, etc. There's so much to explore and so much to do here. I definitely miss Pittsburgh a lot, especially all of my friends and family there. But it really is exciting to live in a new place and figure things out yourself. I've been having so many apartment problems, it definitely feels like I'm getting the full "adulting" experience. Last week my fire alarm was going off incessantly, now my bathtub faucet keeps running. Really frustrating.
Anyhows I'm really really really hoping that I can start updating this blog a little big more regularly now that I have so much more free time. No promises, but I do have my fingers crossed.
